PERSOL | ARCHIVI OLIVETTI
Countertop Display for the Persol × Archivi Olivetti collection.
On the occasion of the launch of the Persol × Archivi Olivetti collection, Lillisimone designs for Luxottica a countertop display inspired by the Olivetti Lettera 22, the portable typewriter designed by Marcello Nizzoli in 1950 and an icon of Italian industrial design. The collection brings its codes into eyewear: the engraved bridge echoes the typebars, the red tip of the temples recalls the tab key, the Olivetti “O” sits on the hinge.
The display opens like a pop-up book. Two planes unfold at an angle and, between the pages, an essential Lettera 22 takes shape: the platen holds the campaign image like a freshly inserted sheet, the sloping keyboard becomes the stand for the eyewear. The typewriter is not reproduced but suggested, through a few volumes in grey-blue tones, leaving the PO3416V limited edition at the centre of the scene.
